ultima entrada

this past weekend

I don't what else to write, so im writing about this large weekend we've got. My boyfriend and I went to Valles to visit my parents, we left last friday night and came back to Tampico this Monday. on Friday we've got home and we bought a cake because of my b-day, which was last november 4th but havent celebrated with my parents. Some people i know came over my house too. After that, we went to hang out with some friends for a while, then we went back home. on Saturday we didnt do anything during the day but went to have dinner with a friend at night. then on Sunday we went to the movies with the same friend we went to dinner a night before, after that we went to haver dinner again and then took her to her friend's house because they were leaving for san luis. On Monday we got up late then we had breakfast, which wasnt anymore, more like luch because of the time we got up. Then we packed our bags and drove back to Tampico.
p.s. the picture above has nothing to do with this past weekend, but its a picture of micos which is in valles, so i decided to pasted on.

Dear sir or madam:

Last weekend my boyfriend and i arrived at your popular cafeteria looking for a very nice time to spend together. The motto in your window reads "where your friends are as special as you are" unfortunately the service that day didn't reflect those words.

As soon as we arrived there we had the chance to sit at a table and we waited for almost half an hour for a waiter to help us. There were not to many people for this to happen but i have to point out that the music was good and this helped us to be pacient. However, when we were finally serviced the waiter spilled a cup of coffee on my brand new jacket. It costed me $15 to have it clean.

My jacket doesn't look that good anymore. I had never had an experience such like this anywhere. I hope you can understand my complain because i want you to refund the money for another brand new jacket.

Sincerely yours

Cynthia Herrera

Dear Sir or Madam:
On July 16 my friends and I arrived at your inn hoping to spend an enjoyable weekend. Unfortunately, because of your poor service, our weekend was a disaster. Since your ad says "have a fabulous time or get your money back, " I am requesting that you refund our money.
From the moment we arrived, there were problems with the service. First, a very unfriendly desk clerk couldn't find our reservation. After waiting almost half an hour, we were led by another unfriendly clerk to our room. The room, which had a view of a parking lot instead of the bay, had not yet been cleaned, so we found dirty towels on the beds and cigarette butts in the ashtrays. Despite these problems, none of your employees apologized to us. This was not the weekend we had been looking foward to.
Service at your inn was not always like this. My previous visits were always enjoyable because of the courteous service and clean rooms with beautiful views. Until things change at your inn, I will never recommend it to anyone. I expect to receive my refund shortly.
Sincerely yours,
Dale Thomas

I think many people turned down Bowerman's idea because the way he thought of it, with waffle iron and all of that, made him sound crazy, i guess people thought that wasn't possible or necessary.
I think Smith's professor gave him a C on the project because he may didn't have the groundwork to support his idea, and the professor just saw the idea as a homework not as something possible to happen.
I think the idea that has led to the most imitations is the Nike athletic shoes, because there are different kinds of them and also there are some other brand names which also have different kinds of athetic shoes.
I dont really have any idea for new products or services, I guess im not that creative, i sometimes come up with some ideas, but i dont think they would make someone's life easier.

entry corrected by Mr. Cabrales

The following entry is the one which Mr. Cabrales already checked and pointed out some mistakes for me.
When I think about high school, I have both good and bad memories. One of the best years of my life was back in 2002, my freshman year at Madison James High School, in San Antonio, Texas; it was a year full of all the emotions you can have in life. I don't remember too much of it now, but I do remember some people I met back then, people who cared about me and helped me to adust to a new way of life, and I still talk to some of them. I have only one regret about high school: I should have stayed up there, I took a wrong decision and came back to Mexico, just when I had everything ready to go back to school and be a sophomore, even my schedule done, I was going to take great classes, even dance and interior design, plus I was going to upgrade esol 1 to go to English 2, yeah, I was supposed to take regular English classes just like everybody else, and my counselor told me that I souldn't leave Madison, because if I had kept going just the way I was I would have a pretty good chance to get a scholarship for college, but I totally ruined that up. I don't really know why I took that decision, but I remember I was afraid that something may happen to my parents and I woulnd't be by their side, I was just 15 years old, so I guess I didn't think what would be the best for me or the opportunities I would have had after 4 years of high school, having good grades, and I even passed a reading and writing state test and a math state test. But I guess everything happens for a reason, and now I have some other beautiful things in my life that I wouldn't have if I would have stayed back in Madison.

Lucy Gomez is the most creative person I know. She started piano lessons when she was only 6 years old. At school, she was always creating interesting projects in her art class. When she was only 12 years old, she won a citywide poetry contest. Her parents were very proud of her.

Now Lucy works as a sitcom writer for a popular TV show. She works with a group of writers, and together they have to think of fresh ideas. They also have to come up with funny dialog for the actors on their show because the actors have to play believable characters that will make the audience laugh. It is not an easy job, buy Lucy does it well.

She starts work late in the morning and often works until 7 or 8 at night.

Lucy is very curious. She likes to travel and meet new people who have opinions that are different from hers. She often carries a notebook with her and writes down what she sees and hears. Lucy tells me that these new experiences are a good source of ideas for her work. I always enjoy talking to her and am happy to know someone as bright and creative as Lucy.

One day I was walking on the beach and stopped to look at the waves. Suddenly, I thought I saw something struggling in the water. It looked like a man who was having a trouble swimming. At that moment, I reached for my glasses, and then remembered I'd left them at home. Just then, a big wave came, and the man was gone. At that moment I ran as fast as I could to get the lifeguard. After that, we arrived back t the spot where I had seen the man. When the lifeguard looked through his binoculars he said he didn't see anything. Iwas pretty embarrassed.
The next day I bought a newspaper. There was an article about dolphins swimming near the shore. As soon as I read the article. I realized that I had seen a dolphin in the water - not a man!.
After that I never went anywhere without my glasses again.

activity from the book

If young couples in my country want to get married, they supposed first get the permission of their parents, although nowa days, some of them dont really want to get married, they just rather live together, without having a wedding, or the permission of their parents. I believe the reason for this is that they are afraid of commitment, and they think that they may get divorced later, so why would they get married if it wont last forever. I know some couples who have done this, and they're still together, and they're also doing great, but who knows what will happen in 10 years from now.
I may be an old fashion minded but i still want to get married, have a big wedding, with all my friends and family joining me, and having of course the permision of my parents, I know that would be like a dream come true to them and to me, they really wish seeing me walking down the aisle. I also think that my marriage will last forever, and that i'll have a happy family, i know that sounds like a fairy tale, but if the world goes wrong, doesnt mean every one who lives in it has to go the same way, i now marriages used to fail, but that doesnt mean all of them have to, and I hope mine wont be one of the ones which fail.

Friends at SchooL

this is a picture of me and my friends at school, we were eating some kind of candy that got our tongue green lol...well we've been together for 2 years, and even that each one of us have our respectives BFF, we get along pretty well. i love them and care about them, they are super funny people.

I dont really know what can i say about them but that we have spent very funny moments together, we have went to the club, to the beach, to the movies, to parties together and had so much fun, we are always laughing at each other's expense haha, but we never get to mad to each other, we know we're just joking around.

they make school seems easier for me, because is not like you only go to school to learn, i mean that would be bored, but we talk a lot, and discuss our problems, they take good care of me as well, and im thankful to them for being so good to me.

being GoOfY!! w/ mY BFF

this picture was taken like 7 months ago in monterrey, the first guy from left to righ, Jearim, and the girl who isnt me, koko, are my best friends, they both live in monterrey, we were posing like this because according to us the camera was trying to capture our sole haha, we weren't drunk or anything we were just being goofy, like we always are.
I love these guys so much, when times go tough and everyone seemed have turned their back on me, these guys have always been there for me, along with my parents obviously, they're such loyal people, who no matter what, always have time to listen to me and they know they can count on me just the same way.
we may no see very often, because of our duties at school, but we keep in tounch, and we always know what the other have been up to, we see for sure on vacations or holidays in valles, but sometimes they come down to visit me or i go up to see them over a weekend.
i have spent lots and lots of the funniest moments of my life with them and i really thank God for surrounding me with the greatest people in the world, because for each person who has stabbed me in the back, God gives me two shoulders to cry on and two arms to hold me.

San Antonio

San Antonio is one of the most beautiful cities in the great state of Texas. It is located in the southern part of the state. If you are a history lover, the city offers a wide selection of historical places and monuments like The Alamo, which is Texas’ number one attraction. You can also find the River Walk; here you can enjoy a fantastic walk and get magnificent view of the city downtown, or you can try an exciting trip on a river cruiser boat where you can find out more about San Antonio’s history. Among the river are restaurants that go from Texas’ traditional meals to gourmet food. You can also find hotels that fit to your budget and shops with sales and souvenirs. If you like you can always take a visit to the museums that are just around the corner. You can also take hot air balloon rides over the city or watch the sun set from the Tower of the Americas. The weather is nice most of the year, so it is an ideal destination year round. There are many outdoor activities you may enjoy, like golfing, visiting water parks, the San Antonio zoo or the Japanese Tea Garden. But when it comes to nightlife there is a wide variety of clubs, like bars & lounges, comedy, dance clubs, live music or sports bars among others. If you are a basket ball lover, go to see The Spurs of San Antonio at the AT&T center. But if you are looking for the best concerts and want to witness the shows of the hottest rock starts, you can always visit the Alamo dome and enjoy the top of the entertainment industry. Residents in San Antonio are very friendly so if you do not want to take a guide tour over the city, do not worry, just ask, people will guide you through it. So, if you are ready to have fun, and learn about history in a beautiful place, San Antonio is awaiting for you.

me -N- mY prince charming

well this is a picture of me and my baby after my nose surgery. His name is Anthony Nichols. I have to say that this guy is amazing, he cares about me, he listens to me, he understands me, but the most important thing is that he loves me with all his heart, just as much as i love him.
After my nose surgery, he was in charge of me because my parents had to go back to valles, so he cooked for me (even that he doesn't know how to cook, but he did his best), he gave me my medicine, and took me to my post surgery appointments, but over all, he had to stand my ups and downs, because my face was swollen and i was very upset, he has been very patient to me.
He is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time, yeah we have our ups and downs but we manage to work things out. I really hope that we get to spend the rest of our lives together, because he is everything i ever wanted. i know for sure that i dont want to lose him. My parents totally accept him. they got to know him since the first month we got together and they think he is great, and that's one of the zillion of reasons that makes me know for sure that he is the one for me.

when u add these 2 folks u get me..I love my parents

Do you know the most wonderful people in the world?...well if you didn't, now you do..my parents!!..these guys are just amaizing...they have supported me in every good decision i've made through my life because they know i would never let them down. When i was 14 i decided that i wanted to study abroad, they talked about it and took the final decision. I was allowed to do it, they knew it was something that was going to help me for the rest of my life. It was very hard for them to let me go and for me to separate from them, but the three of us knew we were doing the right thing. They have blessed me with their confidence and that's why i would never do anything wrong to disappoint them.
Now I live in Tampico with my roommie, my parents live in Valles, my hometown, and even thought im a young lady and is always easier to take wrong decisions when nobody is telling you what to do, like skipping school or eating junk food instead of cooking or maybe spending the money they give me in buying stupid stuff or anything, like some foreing students do, I know i'll take the right choice because of what they have thought me, because the last thing i ever want to do is to make them suffer. They mean the world to me, and i know that whenever i get to have a family on my own i want to be as good as they are.
I also know they aren't perfect and have made some mistakes, but they have talked to me about them so that i won't do the same thing, and i really appreciate that because I know they care for me, and they want me to be a good person.
I love them like crazy, and i will do it 'till death and beyond.
